Tenant to sell TOPA Rights on this already contracted property Hello! My name is Tom Donohue, I am a tenant currently at 2200 Prout Street - I've been here for five years. Long story short our landlord, a 25 year public defender for the District Of Columbia was visiting his second home in the Dominican Republic when he was murdered causing national headlines. The estate and trust have had some internal 'challenges' and I've been notified that the property has been placed on the market and a contract is pending. A few days ago, I notified the attorney evoking my TOPA rights. I am attaching the current contract below. Frankly If I had the money I would buy it. Its 2 blocks from Anacostia Park and its river front, two blocks from Pennsylvania Ave and right off of 295. Potomac Ave Metro is about a 10 min walk across the John Philip Sousa Bridge. The units are being sold 'as is' as the trust I assume just wants to sell it before it goes into foreclosure. I'm not aware of any major repairs needed, maybe the roof and the HVAC needs serviced. The units also have a w/d in the unit however (I'm not sure if they are included (hell I doubt the trust even knows the units have them lol) Its a great property. The property has a nice fenced in back yard, the units have a porch off each in the back as well. Oh, I almost forgot - there’s a band new elementary school across the street. Once the landscaping is completed it will make Prout Street look so good.
