The Cherry Fund - More Questions than Answers

Let me first start off by complaining to the entire Board of Directors currently representing The Cherry Fund.  Why?  Well because I have tried and asked and requested information very quietly and privately mainly to protect the interest of those who The Cherry Fund helps support.  HOWEVER, not only has my requests to meet with the board and for information been ignorned until now the information that was finally supplied didn't supply anything in the sense of what I know you all know I was (like any vested business that donates inkind services) I was looking for.  The info I have requested is public information and frankly the lack of proper response should alarm everyone.  Why?  Why not just supply the very basic information that I've inquired about?

Why would you respond to what was a financial inquiry only to respond with information which contained not one single dollar sign, meaning there was not one financial, one figure, one nothing of what I asked for.

The organization files a 990 - postcard - which basically means "Most small tax-exempt organizations whose annual gross receipts are normally $50,000 or less can satisfy their annual reporting requirement by electronically submitting Form 990-N if they choose not to file Form 990 or Form 990-EZ instead"  This means for the last three years The Cherry Fund's annual gross receipts are $50,000 or less. - okay great.  Now with this BIG party weekend and all the donations the organization provides to local organizations you're telling the IRS your annual gross receipts don’t go over $50,000?  So I simply asked to see a breakdown, why not?

Below you'll find two things.  One my certified letter to Allen Sexton, The Cherry Fund President.  The second is Allen's response (which I stress offers not one-dollar amount in any of its few pages) Did Allen really think that his response was going to justify my inquiry?

I publish these two items prior to a more in-depth response.  I'm hopeful that the Board will appropriately respond once again prior to my December 15th deadline.  Again, I have no problem being completely transparent here. Heck, I have nothing to hide infact I've done everything possible not to make this a public battle. I will supply all supporting documentation to any of my concerns for now I'm simply asking for basic information that ANY non-profit would offer when asked.  What is there to hide?  Oh, and this whole contract stuff Allen writes about - Sorry Allen, you're a non-profit organization and should you wish to keep financials a secret in order to position yourselves better for contracts I'd suggest you not operate under as a non-profit organization.

My request is not difficult; however your response is very suspect.  Your turn to clear it up – that is clear up your own doing of making it so suspect.
