I was all done packing up for work the next day when I realized I had no cash to use while working in the morning so rather than forget in the morning and have nothing to drink I decided that I would go take out a few bucks at the ATM, yes it was 2:30 am in Southeast DC. I have taken this trip via segway many many times overt the 8 years living there. So I loaded up Dusty my dog and I and traveled the two blocks. I went to the ATM got what I needed for that mornings breakfast and beverages and walked back to the car.

I got in placed the car in reverse and noticed a car sitting boxing me in. No where to get out, frankly I just thought there was traffic holding it up. I tapped my brake light twice to indicate my desire to leave got no response I opened up my door to poke my head out, Thats when the masked man was facing me directing me to Get out! Get Out! GET OUT! just before this Dusty my nearly 11 year old dog poked his nose through and snapped at him. The guy now figured he didn't want Dusty in the car so when I pleaded with this masked man to let me take the dog he allowed me to open my back door to retrieve him. The masked man then demanded my keys and after a few pushbacks asking him to just take the fob and not my house keys he took the keys out of my hand. He got into CAR and thats when the car blocking me pulled away and my car traveled into my immediate neighborhood.

I stood by and just watched this stranger steal my car. I had no choice He drove off .

Thankfully MPD - DC law enforcement recovered my car 7-8 blocks from my home with dc tags removed and replaced with a VA temp tag from another state. They also removed the registration sticker from the front windshield. Oh did I mention the car was filled with the smell of weed, these two thieves decided to go for a They stole my two dash cam's one i had already just replaced. Above this I need to change out my locks, I have to get my entire fob for the car replaced since he still has my keys. This also means they could easily come to my apt as they have my address from my registration This is not cheap it will cost in access of $500 As a photographer/videographer the last 16 months have been rough with no business due to covid. So I'd to ask my community to help pay the deductible The deductible is $500. If you are in a position to contribute please know i appreciate any help I can get to combat the cost of replacing my tags and registration, It will also go towards replacing my dash camera.

Thank you in advance for any help or support.
